Jason Edelson is a Managing Partner at Ona Capital Advisors, a boutique investment banking advisory firm that specializes in small and medium enterprise (SME) companies. Mr. Edelson helps companies secure funding through loans or investors. His firm also leads buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisition engagements. Mr. Edelson’s career is a unique combination of both Financing and Consulting.
Mr. Edelson was formally a Managing Director for White Oak Commercial Finance, a $7 Billion direct lending fund. Mr. Edelson oversaw the international Supply Chain Lending Practice with global offices throughout the US, UK, China, and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining White Oak, Mr. Edelson designed, developed, and managed lean operational programs for Fortune 500 conglomerates and lower middle market consumer product companies for A Greener Solution, now part of Casella Waste Systems, Inc. His clients included Procter and Gamble, Energizer, Becton Dickinson, among several others. Mr. Edelson created and directed a HACCP / best practice-driven national toll processing program for Pactiv Reynolds in accordance with FDA and EPA guidelines. He saved his clients several million dollars on a recurring monthly basis. Edelson also ran a raw materials byproduct manufacturing operation for Maine Plastics, Inc., the U.S.’s fourth largest plastics and metals recycler and a sister company to A Greener Solution.
Mr. Edelson was a Managing Director for Transcap Trade Finance responsible for the Midwest, Mexico, and Canada regions. Transcap’s trade finance and purchase order finance facilities enabled companies to obtain 100% financing of the cost of inventory required to fulfill known sales transactions. Transcap was founded to provide middle market and smaller companies with an alternative to equity. Mr. Edelson helped grow Transcap’s portfolio prior to the company being sold to Wells Fargo in June of 2008.
Mr. Edelson began his career at American National Bank, now Chase Bank, as a commercial middle market lender.
He received his MBA with High Honors from DePaul University’s Kellstadt School of Business and his BS in International Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Mr. Edelson is an active committee member in the Turnaround Management Association, Commercial Finance Association, and Association for Corporate Growth. Through the TMA, he has taught 13-week cash flow sessions at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
